wigeon jim
Hi, I have an 02 plate ford ranger which is starting to get a problem with the ignition key, some times it doesn't conect and you have to switch it on and off a few times before it connects and starts, I see ignition switch parts on eBay but not sure which bit I need, anyone else had this problem? Jim.
Tam
If you unscrew the cowlings Jim & look at the back of the key barrel you will see a switch usually held in with a screw/screws & a short loom with multiplug

Konnie
had this problem with hyudai santa fe, eventually when it would not start it was the starter motor, sticking.
neil82
have you got a link to the parts, got the same problem on my truck, only thing that's given me trouble in 3 years
Tam
Could be the small spade connection on the starter Jim - that's what makes the solenoid activate. If you are not getting full ignition lights more than likely switch! Give me a buz if you are stuck & try Dalcrue Autosalvage at Perth - they might have bits Hope you are free to lead the club to Glory at the BASC shoot this year :good:
wigeon jim
Getting all ignition lights ok, just sometimes when you turn the key nothing happens, you have to switch on and off till you get a connection, Did a search on eBay for ford ranger ignition switch and few came up if they are the part I need, Jim. Ryanb
Could be ignition switch or like someone else said could be starter motor. Try wiggling the key in the ignition when it does it if it tries to turn over i would say the switch.
