According to this NBC News report, Remington are going to replace the trigger mechanism of thousands of rifles.

I found it on the internet this afternoon. Never heard of anything about it before.

Does anyone know anything more about it.

This all started last year. On the Remington website there is a page where you can put your serial number in and it instantly tells you whether or not your trigger needs replacing. Rifle craft in Leicester were meant to be doing all of the work. My rifle was one of the faulty guns and I was told not to use it until it had been fitted with a new trigger. I packaged it up and took it to my RFD and waited - they never came to pick it up - I contacted them and they said they were repairing the rifles bought at the Sportsman shops first - I explained that was where mine was purchased and they said oh OK we will pick it up - They never did. I'm still using it and it seems fine - Rob.

Gentlemen, thank you all for the speedy replies and information. PW never lets you down.

It appears my rifle is OK.

Sorry about mad1's problem but now glad I put it back on the forum.

I never saw the original topic and I guess there will be a few others in the same boat.

This isn't the Xmark Pro trigger issue linked to above, it's the original Walker trigger and affects almost 8 million rifles worldwide as posted in the link by Grandalf.

So far Remington haven't given any details of when or how this will be implemented.

Ah, so what you are saying is that there is two separate issues going on. Correct?

Yes Dougy, I think that is the way I will go.

I purchased the used rifle at the latter part of last year and didn't use it much during the fowling season. Now my mind turns to rifles and I discovered this malarkey about replacement triggers.

The weapon suits me very much. I agree about the trigger pull - it is heavy.

It seems that Rifle Craft are the company involved in all of this and they are only 4 miles down the road and I know their boss very well - I didn't purchase the gun from them. Next step is to go and have a mardle with Andrew and see what is on offer. Timney seems to be the way to go.

Should get it sorted before Catton Park.

Timney around £100 Rifle basics I think may be slightly less.

Jewel If and when you can get them around £200 (a long wait for these)

There is now an company in the UK manufacturing triggers and again around £200.

They are all a great improvement in any Remy the standard pull weight is just silly. Unless you have trigger fingers to match Arnie's biceps that is

I am sure Fister could comment as he's pretty into Remingtons

Ok lads strange results

I rang sportsman's gun center and they said it's the ones with ribbed trigger they are recalling so ring smk and arrange a return

Then I rang smk and told them and I was told yeah the smooth trigger versions are to be returned ... not the ribbed ones like mine ???

Two company's are giving me different answers !!!

As I said above, the article linked to doesn't refer to the already recalled Xmark Pro trigger, this is another new recall for the original Walker Trigger.

Again, as stated above, no announcement has been made by Remington as to when the latest recall will be so there's no point ringing anyone about it yet.

As above Jewells have just vanished here like hens teeth I'm finding DCR triggers very good bUT rifle basix and Timney are good at less money.

Gandalf if Andrew can't sort you out ive a few spare triggers you can borrow one for Catton.

Daf

Well that's very nice and Pigeon Watchish of you Welshwarrior. However I went out with the Remmy yesterday afternoon and shot my first ever red. Can't be that bad.
