Comp X 21g

Recommended Posts

A local clay ground has been forced by the local council to limit cartridges to 21g due to noise complaints.

Regardless of how stupid this is, it's not the weight of lead that makes the noise, we all comply to keep the ground open.

Today I shot 50 Hull Comp X 21g fibre cartridges. In 6 years of clay shooting I've never had to clean so much filth out of my barrels. I've recently used Hull Comp X 28g fibre cartridges at another local ground (again due to noise complaints) without the filth problem. I've previously tried all sorts of clay busting cartridges in a "scientific" (saving money) experiment but never found such dirty ammunition.

Once this slab is used I'll be looking for an alternative 21g fibre load. Any suggestions?

I dont really see why there is an issue with how clean a cartridge burns. As long as they go bang and the target falls down then that's all that matters. I clean all my guns after they have been out so what does it matter how they burn. NOW, if they didn't have any lead in them I would be a bit more concerned.

Do you know how hard it is to get clean burning,21g loads? Slow would be quieter, and that is bloomin ard!

Whome ever said to use 21s to save noise is a numptyburger.

If they Have been forced I'd like to see the flyer or documents. Cos that don't make sense.

I really would like to see the documents because 21g loads can be loud.

Really loud.
