blade
My pinewood magnet seems to be getting noisy and is also slower rpm than my mates one.Does it mean a new motor if so has anybody replaced there's with an aftermarket one.Or does it mean sending back to pinewood for a new motor or service ? activeviii
Give these a ring and ask for the motor that pinewood use. http://www.mfacomodrills.com/contact.html Undo top grub screws and lit motor unit out. Unsolder old motor and solder new one in . remember +&- One grub screw takes the top off AMD then there's a bar on the motor with one more grub screw. Very easy but will cost you £35 for the motor. JDog
Unless you are practical like activeviii I suggest that you send it back to Pinewood. The last time I did that it was back in three days and I felt that the £85 was well spent.

littlerob
You could buy a new magnet for cheaper than 85pound surely on that dont seems cost effective to me
TIGHTCHOKE
You could buy a new magnet for cheaper than 85pound surely on that dont seems cost effective to me You could indeed buy another magnet but it would not be a Pinewood one! JDog
You could buy a new magnet for cheaper than 85pound surely on that dont seems cost effective to me That magnet cost me £150 fifteen years ago and that is the first money I have spent on it. That works out at either £10/year, 83p/month, 20p/week or 3p/day. Alternatively if I average 40 outings per year and have done for fifteen years the rotary has cost me 25p/outing. To me that is cost effective. You may have a different view.

ayano3
I don't own a pinewood one but I've seen one my friend has and would not buy one or recommend it. The first one the motor blew the in line fuse before it had done 5 minutes work. Posted it back and 2nd one failed too. Finally had to buy a tripod attachment for it at extra cost as the guy suggested it was spinning in the ground which caused the motors to fail !! Which didn't happen as I was there to witness this. Customer service....1 out of 10.
