Having forked out £30 on half a dozen new Fuds midweek' one took 28grms of Olympic blues at 30'ish yrds as a winged jackdaw was hopping his way off and he hopped in front of the fud as I finished him off.

A few hours in the afternoon on newly Sown barley resulted in two Hooded crows "Greybacks as we call them locally..A few carrion crows which seem to becoming more common here and a few rooks and jackdaws. Shot of the day was the second Greyback which I managed to call with my own voice' he let out a croak of alarm as I showed myself and managed to jerk into the stiff breeze that had got up' I missed him with the first barrel and he was making his way off at speed left to right when I managed to track him and folded him stone dead well out. I stepped it out from the hide and it was just shy of 70yrds although the shot was actually more at 60 yrds.

I was using Olympic blues 7 and a halves in the bottom barrel and Eley Grand Prix 32grms in fibre wad in the top with both tubes choked half.

Thanks for the Comments Gents.

To be honest I am not a big Crow shooter' and sometimes it does not sit well with me Shooting them this time of year' as I have a fondness for the Rooks but When the farmer phones It is a duty that has to be Done.Always good to get a few of the Hoodies out of the way though.

I also dont advocate the taking of extreme shots at live Quarry' But I knew I had the right choking and shot to make the Kill.

I find it always pays dividends to use some natural cover "in this case Gorse" on a Hide.

Thanks again for your comments.
