hyflier
https://www.gunspares.co.uk/products/25078/Express/# Not that clear but this is the exploded diagram of the Remington Express, it would appear there is an adjustment screw behind the trigger, in the diagram it will be the small screw with a spring around the threads. Hope this helps Edited May 3, 2015 by hyflier

Hope this helps just found a screw in front of the trigger, you can see it in the diagram, will give it a tweak and see if it improves things, the other screw with the coil spring appears to adjust the pull force, which to be honest is quite heavy. Tallshort
Slightly unrelated..I have recently brought an Express and have been impressed with it shooting targets and was wondering if it would be ok for shooting fur and feather?
saddler
There is NO trigger adjustment option for the Express trigger. What you need to do is change the hammer spring. Takes a few seconds once the trigger is dropped out. I've done this to several 870's. I also change the carrier dog spring. The only other option is to buy a complete dedicated aftermarket trigger assembly Parts (springs) sourced from Brownells in the USA

Nailed my first woodie with a clean neck shot last week. Dropped him stone dead from about 15m. Had the breasts in pitta bread with salad and chilli sauce. Mr.C
Know this is an old thread but having just acquired an express I was keen to see if I could lighten the trigger up. I removed the stock to see what was going on and found the trigger components quite roughly finished, unsurprising on a budget end gun. I ended up taking 400/500/1200 emery paper to any parts that contact each other. Once a light wipe of gun oil had been applied I reassembled everything. Trigger feels considerably lighter and snappy with no discernable creep. I've backed off the preload screw so it just takes up the slack and very little more. Might change it for a lighter spring yet. Going to give it a proper test this evening or Monday
SteveieP
The sear engagement screw (ahead of the trigger) has 3 washers under it. Remove 2 of them & refit the screw You should still have safe engagement but a lighter trigger. Further or alternatively:- Venoman (Lyn Lewington) does a brass setback trigger for these with proper screws to adjust first & second stage. I have 1 of Lyns triggers on mine ..looks nice & works well
Mr.C
Cheers will consult Venoman to see what can be done. Mine has the 1 washer already and polishing has helped but it still takes a bit of a squeeze.
