steve w
I had an afternoon last Friday on spring rape or should i so winter rape that failed in the middle of a field, beetles and slugs and wet weather killed the winter rape off so the farmer re-drilled it .any way i set up at 12.15 with my back to the winter rape which was a good 4 ft high wind at my back and birds coming from all angles and by 4.15 i had 77 pigeons picked and about 3 lost and at one point my barrels got so hot i had to stop for them to cool down as its an old sbs 16 bore no cooling rib .I can say it was the best best 4 hrs sport i have ever had and in a way i am glad i ran out of cartridges as it nearly killed me carry that lot back to the car .they next day i took them to the game dealer and got £23 off 250 carts so looking forward to the next trip out rooks on the barley next i think
Passionforangling
That's a memorable 4 hours, well done. Yes, it would probably have been a 100 or more if you hadn't run out of cartridges.
