djgeoff
at last they have arrived, and boy did they arrive, makes you wonder where they have all been all this time. my mate was called out earlier in week to load pigeon on laid barley, he got 194 in approx 3 hrs. two days later another call from same farmer but we did not do as good as mates first time out weather was against us a bit and there was a lot less flying but we turned up to show willing. then today we got a call from a different farmer two fields away from the first location saying you b....rs have moved the pigeon over on to my barley lol. so tatics came in to play we split up one on each farm and in the 3hrs we spent shooting before it went quiet and the thunder and rain came we got 105 pigeon and 3 crow. must admit they were coming at me like missiles with he wind up their rear ends one pair got by me with a blink of my eye they were passed me, quick was not the word for it lol, on the wind they were all over the place but it made good sport and the farmers were happy. oh i must tell you this : my mate on his first visit when he got 194 it was really hot and he was in sun all day, after couple of hrs he heard a tractor, then the farmer turned up with a mug of tea for him saying' thought you might like a cuppa you been doing so well'. you don't get that happen very often, i was just visualizing a farmer driving tractor one hand on mug other on the wheel bouncing along to deliver the tea, i wonder how much tea was actually left in the mug lol they also gave him some cash towards his carts... cant complain about that Edited July 5, 2015 by djgeoff
