Whitebridges
My Anschutz 1417G .22 LR has a 14 Inch barrel with a SAK Mod. It's more accurate than I am and handles superbly from a vehicle. Personally I prefer the shorter length.
Scully
It's entirely up to you and whatever you're shooting won't know the difference. Had mine chopped to sixteen and it's as handy as owt for the Landrover

welshwarrior
Used 12.5-24" there is a lot more to accuracy than length mines now a 14"
Beardo
I believe all the powder is burnt by 12", so anything above. Mine is 14", shorter the better imho
Ginger_Swingers
Got myself a brand new 16" .22lr this very day. Glad to see my decision to switch from the 20" fluted barrel which I was originally was going for hasn't sacrificed any accuracy it would seem. Ginger_Swingers
Size may not matter with rifles but I don't want 6" taking off my other weapon... I'm not halving it for anybody lol
