norfolk dumpling
Good one this in lovely surroundings. Anyone new to the area or not been before should pay a visit. Worth the entry fee if only to look around the estate. And, by the way, I'm not being paid to promote this.
twitchynik
We were up there a few weeks back. Shame we couldn't coincide with the game fair. A visit to Sheringham is a must if you're in the area. So too Blickling. Lovely part of the world and the walk down the coast from Holkham beach and back through the woods is fantastic. Take care when walking in the dunes mind, you don't know what you might stumble across...!

norfolk dumpling
Twitchynik - I assume you mean in the dunes? Well known as an unofficial nudist beach. Caught a mate getting his leg over several years ago. But yes a beautiful part of Norfolk.
marsh man
A lovely site for a country fair, with the hall next to the tents in stunning surroundings , but the fair its self is not to my liking as it is far to commercialised for a game fair and at £18 entry I will give it a miss . bakerboy
Years ago I was walking through the Dunes and found a lady nudist buried up to her armpits in the sand. She asked me to help get her out, being young I asked what was in it for me, Sand was her reply

You will enjoy it, and it is a good day out , but I go to three more in the area and if I had to miss one out Holkham would be it , but the grounds are in a class of there own . norfolk dumpling
Weather now looking carp for entire weekend. We've got a disabled person who was going with us so may have to give it a miss. We like to do a couple during the year so fingers crossed for Fenland and Sandringham - got to support the Royals haven't we.

teal27
Was the worst country fair I've Ever been to, Not a single shotgun or box of cartridges on sale anywhere, won't waste my time again

Pushandpull
I have been to most of these over the years, since the series started (at Bayfileld !), and have had some great times both as a visitor and helping on various stands. At one time you seemed to run into anyone whom you had ever met in Norfolk over the two days. I went on Sunday and was saddened : very little shooting and fishing stuff, poor layout, poor signposting, dull displays and above all stall after stall selling upmarket tat. It seemed like the end of an era with no geese around the lake, the seventh Earl gone to his long home, and the drizzle coming down. Best memory - the late Mike Townsend firing Irish Tom from a double punt on the lake. Roll on Fenland (the friendliest one) and Sandringham (getting better every year).
