Luckyshot
any paint sprayers on here, im wondering how much it will cost to have my land rover sprayed, 75% sanded down, all parts in and out? Anything from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand all depends on the finish you require. Both these jobs would be £1000+ so expect that atleast. viking
i was expecting at least 2k up to 3k, needs to be a stunning job, i know a bloke who sprays cars for a living but he is playing silly beggers and wont even give me a clue untill he has seen what i bring him, i guess thats fair enough but i only asked for a rough price having told him it was a full land rover in and out and that it was in bits and half sanded down

A mates just had a mk1 escort done solid black bare shell and it was 7k and not a patch on the mini or triumph to say he was gutted would be an understatement. viking
i think i was a bit quick to use the word mint, a new land rover isnt even mint, mines 33 year old so a good gob will do, after all its still a land rover, Edited January 10, 2016 by viking

viking
no not really i know the bloke who will be doing it, he used to rent his spray shop off my dad as it was part of his garage/out buildings, he now has his own garage next to my brothers so he wont rip me off or do a poor job, and will no doubt do me a good price without doing a poor job anyway it will cost what it costs really, it needs to be nice and its as simple as that,
Luckyshot
With the budget you were expecting you should get a decent job especially off a friend.
viking
spent an hour tidying up after work so didn't get anything done apart from a 30 second whiz on one of the injectors, looks like they might come up a treat
ditchman
top job there......shouldnt have 2 copper washers tho....if you do it wont seat on the injector shoud....sequence is one copper washer and one nozzle seating crush washer.. when you seat the injector ...to hold the nozzle washer use a dab of grease.....go back in my thread and you will see the differant washers... find out how much they will charge you to rebuild the injectors...new nozzles should be about £8.00 each...then you want them set at the right pressure......if they want an arm and a leg...send them to me and for the cost of posting them back i will do them for you..... Gordon R
Viking - I used to have a very large MIG, which I bought from a local garage. I didn't use it that much and sold it. I have a large arc welder, but wanted something for thinner metal, so I bought another. Local tool sales in Blackburn - free delivery - from memory. I have had it about 15 months - works perfectly well and cost less than £100 - three year warranty. http://www.localtoolsales.com/welding-equipment-plasma-cutters/mig-welders/mig-welder-130 It's a no-gas model, which I previously avoided. I had a monster CO2 bottle which was a pain to get refilled. I was worried about the price of fluxed wire spools, but on the bay, they are as cheap as non fluxed. ditchman
get a model that uses gas...and use an argon/co2 mix...the argon i think acts as a "wetting agent"............ Those crush washers cause folks a few problems ditchman. damn right espesially when folks dont know about them and forget to "hook" them out of the head !
