malkiserow
I've a new scope with a wider diameter eyepiece which will not clear the bolt handle. What are the tips and tricks to adjust the bolt position so as to allow the bold handle position to clear the eyepiece? The Stainless Steel bold handle is fixed (read welded and nicely flowed in and polished) to the bolt on this Parker Hale Is this a home job or a gunsmith job? Any thoughts from the PW massive....... 30-06hunter
Is it a case of higher scope mount? Might lift it just enough for the bolt to stop in time when lifted

activeviii
Without citing off the handle and brazing in a new one on a different profile then there is two options, maybe 3. Higher rings or replace scope

Underdog
How much is it fouling by? Sounds like the the scope is really low! That will spoil shooting it if your loading that stock with your cheek!
Redgum
wouldn't it be easier to get a scope that fits, I hav a leupold VX3L that sits real low on low mounts just a few mil off the barrel and bolt cycles perfectly.
saddler
Higher scope mounts - or a riser block for the ones you have. It's what they were invented for!
Gunman
You have bought either the wrong scope or the wrong mounts .Sorry but it is not an uncommon mistake .
clakk
my Parker Hale 1200 has a set of Leupold high mounts on ,plenty of clearance with an 8x56 on .Mounts are easier to swap ,rather than chop your bolt about atb
malkiserow
The dear old gun has a bolt handle of a slightly odd shape and not a curve for any scope. I had a very old scope with a tiny eyepiece on and it was a bit iffy before, any new scope is a problem....... I will change the mounts first but to me the bolt handle need a warm up and reshape. I can see too much of the moderator at low power in the scope when rested on the gun so it's mount change first. Thanks for the replies. Anyone got any Leupold standard (the ones for windage adjustment) mounts in "High" and for a 30mm scope tube?
