Cranfield
Having just watched Sunderland come back from 1 - 0 behind, to beat Southampton 1 - 2, I must say I am very impressed. I saw them on Sky at the beginning of the season and they looked like a local pub team at best. Now, what a transformation, I would be happy to have a season ticket at Roker Park. Devon Fox
They couldnt fail under Roy Keane, the bloke is a winner. Its staggering how he has turned them around, and Quinny seems to do a great job behind the scenes. I cant remember a side being turned around like this in my life time, they deserve the premier status.
pin
Quite something, however they have a many more problems to deal with off the pitch if it is to mean anything. I am from Newcastle so normally I would say "great that's 6 points next season in the bag" but after our dire performances of late, I wonder
Peter_HMR
Lads in all fairness the bloke is irish even better he's from cork what did you expect
jonno 357
Cut Keano in half and it will say winner. They will get promotion and I expect them to take plenty of points off the bar codes next season. Big fan of Newcastle but their Manager is a very big weak link in an ordinary team Jonno
pin
Roeder may well be weak and I think he's been found out by the rest of the premiership managers.. The biggest problem we have at the club is Freddie Sheppard, he's been holding us back for years. Many will say he's put millions in, he has, but he's also had millions out. Unfortunately making money from a football club and associated brand is only possible once you actually win anything. Hopefully someone will oust him, plough some money in and with the right setup behind closed doors we can win something inside 3 or 4 years. It needs taking to bits, fiddling with and putting back together right.
Cranfield
With all the overseas money looking to buy into a "household name" Premier League football team, I would think Newcastle are favourites to be taken over soon. It must be an odds on certainty, that if he maintains his progress, Roy Keane will take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. Suffolk shooter
It must be an odds on certainty, that if he maintains his progress, Roy Keane will take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. I would have said that Mark Hughes will take over from Sir Alex, once he decides his time is up. The proof will be in the position they finish up in next year if they get into the Premier league. I have a feeling that whilst Keano is going to be a great manager, It isn't going to happen overnight and I think next year with the players that he has at the club already he won't make a huge impression for at least two years. All credit to both him and Quinny though for doing the impossible and going from bottom to top. Oh yeah, by the way there is a better manager than both of them, David Moyes. DAVID MOYES BLUE WHITE ARMY, DAVID MOYES BLUE WHITE ARMY................. WE DONT CARE WHAT THE RED HALF SAY WHAT THE HECK DO WE CARE, COZ WE ALWAYS KNOW WE'RE GOING TO GET A SHOW WHEN THE EVERTON BOYS ARE HERE.... Big fan of Newcastle but their Manager is a very big weak link in an ordinary team Jonno as a die hard fan of the mags who yesterday decided not to go? had to take the family out, (and in truth they are painfull to watch this season) so brownie points all round may I point out that, the mags are not ordinary, they are DIRE a souless lagacy of seventy million wasted by that **** souness the inept piece of you know what, roeder is a good bloke but he is a defender and has as his side kick a defender so guess what? yep we dont attack, and unfortunately though he may be fat freddies yes man he seems not to be trusted in the transfer market so looks like till roeder goes and a new man comes in no big gambles in the market, now as to the mackems they will be back down again and hopefully they can beat their lowest points record in a very happless style cheers KW
wickedandlazee
Don't mention mack ems to me I follow Derby County - we were top till yesterday B) Just need to hope Birmingham keep screwing up
death from below
being an exhiled mag living down in Essex it will be good to see the Mackems back....at least there will be a couple of games to look forward to....all we have at the moment is a watered down derby match against the smoggies who are more yorkshire than north east. I think roy keane has done a top job for a team who were as bad as we are but one league lower.....at least the mackems play with heart.....In my beloved toon side are, as already mentioned, a bunch of over-rated wannabees who have no soul or heart for the club or its supporters(save maybe nobby salono and stephen taylor). Back to the original post....yes the mackems have improved but I think they will still get tonked in the premiership.....and yes we'll get a gauranteed 6 points...........in the words of the famous ex-mags manager....."i'd love it, i'd love it if we beat them" (yeah fair enough he was going on about man Utd but the chances of getting a point off them is slim never mind 6). The rest of the millions are loans/revenue secured or made from the club itself. Sheppard and family/clingons have and still are milking newcastle dry. I could go on for pages but i may save it for the news of the world and retire early. And sunderland are only going to be making the numbers up in the premiership again unless they buy 7 or 8 decent players in the summer.
