Keeping gun in car while at work?

I know in theory two pints is the limit but there are so many variables i just don't think it's worth the risk.

Not in Scotland now, the limit is probably just about a half pint of regular beer.

At least it removes the choice, you either drink and don't drive or drive and don't drink.

No complaints at all if it stops folks drinking and driving, but the morning after is now a much scarier prospect for many.

To the OP. I would be more worried about work colleagues knowing that every Wednesday you keep your gun in the boot of the car as you go shooting after work. The chances of someone randomly targeting your car and finding a shotgun in your book are very slim but they would go up a lot the more people know about it.

Very much so. I never drink to excess at all if I know I'm driving the next morning.

Two friends have both been caught the next morning in recent years, not a skinfull and not at Christmas. Both involved in accidents, one to blame, one was hit. Both were breathalysed, both just over.

I'd forgotten it changed up your way Grr.

I expect that it will change in England before much longer too, the national conscience towards drink driving is very intolerant and I think that they will be pressured into coming in line.

Just now we have the ridiculous situation where someone living in Cornhill on Tweed could drive on their side of the border in complete compliance with the law, pop over the bridge into Coldstream to go to the co-op and then lose their license.

Mind you in a little over a year they could have an air rifle in their car boot having been shooting rats at the farm, nip over the bridge to the Co-op again to pick up a bag of tatties that the wife phoned about and be facing criminal prosecution for illegal possession of a firearm and the potential of 5 years in jail.

Edit: I should add to that they could also have their .308 in the boot too along with their shotgun, but the air rifle could see them banged up.
