adi786
Hi Guys, Need bit help, i went out bunnies at night for first time, and was using LED Lenser with lenser filter (red). All the rabbits i spotted even at 80-100 yards with no noise, as soon red light went on them they saw and then ran.. I switched to lower beam and same result.. Then used led lenser 14.2 which has higher intensity beam.. same result. Any idea why they runing from red.. what should i try so they dont ******* run, didnt let me get close enough to take a shot with air rifle :(

Alpha Mule
Sounds like your bunnies have been educated. If you're the first legitimate shooter on the permission, you may also have a poacher. If you are near a road, try white light (if they are used to headlamps). Saying that, they are supposed to be colour blind,,,, I have had them spook at the glow from an IR torch too, thanks to a poacher. How about setting up to do your shooting at twilight instead? I find that they like to sit in the lee of a hedge, very rarely in front (wind wise). I think it gives them the chance to smell predators trying to sneak up, hidden by the hedge, while letting them see down-wind.
Davyo
NV is the way forward,I shoot thousands of rabbits and I have yet to have spooked one with the glow from IR.Not saying it doesn't happen but I've never experienced it.Seriously NV is the way to go if your doing it as pest control and not just bagging a few for the pot. Davyo
can you please guide how to make one, so i can order all stuff i need. or if there's any detailed video please, ill order stuff then.Loads of threads on here mate with parts lists and item numbers for eBay.This is the bracket mate that makes it a one piece unit.I also put a inch or so of 40mm waste pipe inside the 40mm silicone tube that buts up against the Flo Plast where the E700 sits.If you scope ocular is 40mm it will be a neat tight fit with 0 movement as the 40mm pipe inside the silicone tube will be butted up against your ocular end. MGMPEST
sounds like those rabbits have been lamped before, if your after an NV set-up, go on Facebook and search NVUK or pete dodsworth, brilliant kits starting at around £120, fully made ready to add on to the back of your scope. Mine has accounted for many rabbits, rats and foxes. Good luck
paddywack
lamps / n.v. dont make anybody invisble, my perms have plenty of spooky rabbits. even with n.v., still have to use fieldcraft.
evo
lamps / n.v. dont make anybody invisble, my perms have plenty of spooky rabbits. even with n.v., still have to use fieldcraft. you will normally find that, IF rabbits are spooking with an 860nm torch its usually one of two things,, 1, they can sense that something is their but cant see it ( ir light ) 2, the perm is being clearly overshot, 9/10 rabbits should not spook with NV, but if your torch is too powerful then although they cant really see it they can still sense something is not right, when using IR I generally have my torch running as low power as I possibly can without affecting the picture quality, you do not need to have your IR torch running flat out when a rabbit is 40yrds away, 400yrds yes but not 40yrds, as davyo said rabbits will not spook if the setup is right
treetree
Hi. Can I ask what mount and filter you are using for the led lenser P14? I managed to pick one of these cheap on black Monday, but been struggling to find a mount that will take it. Trying to hold off having to shell out for a new lamp. Thanks
