Dunkield
It was more a reference to the bean pole and knicker elastic brigade actually

Dougy
Well I did neglect my runner beans last year by using my sticks to go stalking. The bean's didn't do too bad, lost more to slugs as the beans were at ground level, I'd say down by 35% on previous years. I now use the Mk1 primos trigger stick tripod, it's different, and once you have used it a few times you can do pretty well with it. Took a fox last week at 180 yards with it. Beans crops are back to normal. ;-)

foxshooter69
Primos trigger tripod sticks for me too, tried the rest and they don't even come close IMHO, others will disagree no doubt.
rodp
hello, mine are 2 plastic coated garden poles those with pointy end 3 ft for hide 5 ft for walkinf/hunting about a fiver, old piece of inner tube tied 6 inch from top and black taped down to tube, some decent string 1 ft off bottom to hold poles apart giving the top V a rifle rest hold Must admit I "pimped" mine, I put a soft leather sling across the top (like the leather bit on a catapult). Gives more manoeuvrability to the rifle and softer on the wood work. Just got a piece of leather and sewed a pocket each side, slides over the top of the poles and makes a nice little hammock for the rifle to sit in. Good mod, worth doing
cooter
I made a set of Austrian shooting sticks (quad sticks) about four years ago by following the Mark Gilchrist Utube vid. They cost around a tenner and I'm still using the same ones today. One of the best features I find is that as they support the rifle at both ends I can stand still for as long as I like with the rifle butt resting in my shoulder, and be looking through the binos at the same time. Once you get used to them quick height adjustment is not a problem, all teh way down to kneeling. If I need to move around quick I just place the fore stock on the rear sticks and use them as normal twin sticks. They are also a good solid aid to climb in and out of ditches, or to descend inclines when loaded up with gear.
