OJW
Has anyone ever come across this before, Jdog spotted this half cock half hen bird we shot following one of yesterdays drives
kennett
Seen a few before and I think but prepared to be corrected, that it is when a hen has damaged ovaries, from shot or what ever and stops producing oestrogen.

Underdog
Shot one a few years ago, tia put it up. Phoned my old keeper friend about it. He told me old hens start morphing back to a cock bird. It was an old bird living in a dense wooded lot with a few friends gone completey wild over many years. dob
It's a Hermaphrodite (have I spelt it right JDog? If not its bisexual) Pretty common, used to work on a game farm and used to get those , rye necks and crossbills although not many make it to shoots as when we were pouting up birds to send out we only used to pick the best.
