dibbz2000
Hi there, Ive just bought a Walther NightHawk Special Ops CO2 pistol for my brothers birthday. I have absolutly no experience with these CO2 powered air guns so I was wondering could you guys give me some details like are the accurate? How much ft/lb they get? Are they purly for pliniking or can small vermin be dispatched with them? Also the gun is in .177 how many shots per CO2 capsule can I expect? Any help appreciated!! monkeyjaimz
I dont have any experiance with pistols, although I'm fairly sure that they are just intended for plinking and paper punching. Shooting at live quarry of any kind with an air pistol is a bit of a no no due to lack of ability to humanely dispatch them (as far as i'm aware)
SNAKEBITE
Walther NightHawk Special Ops CO2 pistol Do you have to abseil out of a helicopter in a black flame retardant uniform to get full benefit from it? How many "perps" can you take out with one magazine? Sorry shouldn't take the **** but these names just crack me up.
BSA Shaun
At best its going to be 6ft/lbs. Don't go a quarrying with that mate, just not humane. Have a Beretta 92FS and its good for fun but not for the hunt.

Peter_HMR
If you can group it i dont see why short range rat's/mice couldnt be shot with it

Paul in North Lincs.
back in the day I used to hunt with a BSA Scorpion...now they were a tool!!!!!!! I shot hundreds of rabbits with that at close quarters stalking bramble hedges on an old gravel pit...........the HW 45 was also a man sized pistol, but shooting any less that 8 yards with a pistol is a no-no
arjimlad
An accurate head shot on something smaller than a rabbit, with a .22 pistol above 5 ft lbs at out to 5 yards is one thing - but these CO2 pistols don't have the oomph to knock quarry over reliably enough. I've had the CP88 and have a S&W and would not shoot live prey with them. I think they do about 3ft lbs, I used to get 60 or so shots from the CP88 per capsule and it would hit a 45mm, or even the 20mm disc at 10 yards reliably if I was up to the job. Purely for plinking, not really suitable for formal target shooting. Oh, and they're loud at first !!

I had the CP88 and thought that was pants to be honest!.........power dropped off very rapidly and as you said..they don't half pop with a new canister in!........tin can stuff only I'm afraid
humperdingle
I'd say a point blank head shot would be fine on a rat. Just make you tie it up securely to a wendy house chair before blindfolding it... Nah, these pistols are for fun only (circa 3-4ft lbs). As for shots per capsule, probably 50 at the very most at full power.
magicaxeman
3- 4ft/lbs is generous B) I get about 40 decent shots out of mine before it tails off. accuracy isnt to bad, but I would never ever consider using it on live quarry, it just hasnt the power to provide a clean, quick kill.
