colin lad
any of you chaps in the Beds and Herts area done a variation lately how long has it taken ? colin
mick miller
Mine had just gone in, will let you know. I was advised though that if you're planning a variation to be quick. Herts and Beds are shortly to merge with Cambs. Then, so I was told, it'll all likely go to pot! Expect much longer wait times in the not too distant future. Shame, the service used to be spot on. Imperfection
Herts and Beds are shortly to merge with Cambs. They have already merged. All the admin is now done at Cambridgeshire with less staff than they used to have when doing just the one region.

colin lad
have always done ok with them even my renewal last year was only a couple of weeks, have put in for wmr but since heard that they now taking some while which is ok but will be needing some more ammo in a few weeks time, will give it a couple more weeks then may have to give them a bell, colin
mick miller
I'm swapping out the slot for 223 for 17 centre fire. The 243 can do anything mid to big, the hmr is the bunny gun but I'm considering getting shot of the rimmy simply so I can reload my own. Billy.
Herts did a same day variation for me a couple of years ago. They're based at Harpenden station, so if you ask nicely the lady will turn it around in no time. The catch was that the FEO had a 15 minute chat with me, just to ask about my shooting and life in general. Fairly sensible approach in all honesty. fortune
I hope that it is a lot sooner than Kent. Up until recently the firearms department weren't taking outside calls. full stop. I think that you can ring up in the afternoon now. Total shambles. link to another thread about waiting times for anything. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/328417-6-months-wait-to-clear-land-in-kent/ Edited January 15, 2016 by fortune
