Kev12g
Hi lads/lasses does any one use a franchi affinity or a stoeger m3000 if so how do you find them on lighter loads ? I shoot a lot of English sporter 7.5 28grams and have been told that these semis mite have trouble cycling these rounds. I had a hatsan and I loved it it cycled everything but unfortunately I had to make room and sold it however now I regret it and am looking to get another semi I have since had another hatsan but that did have jamming problems so I'm thinking of upgrading Abit. The franchi is at the very very top of my funds so I'll have to save acouple of pennies befor getting it so I'm trying get as much info on them...any help appreciated many thanks kev
HDAV
What case length? The case length is more an issue than the load 28g should cycle 21g may be tricky, stick to 70mm cases and all good in most semis ( some older ones need the mechanism adjusting but any modern semi should cycle 28g with no issues) Edited February 1, 2016 by HDAV
figgy
Out of the two make I would go for Franchi basically a Benelli. On some American forums the Stoeger gets slated for reliability. Armsan is another good semi auto without breaking the bank also the Baikal mp153 can't be overlooked.
littlerob
Yes the baikal mp153 is a very good gun and my one works with 65mm hull compX faultlessly it been more reliable than the berreta al391 urika I had

jonny thomas
I only ever use 7.5 28g in my semi it's all about case length minimum of 68mm most semi's will cycle fine
Ian North Wales
So i'm going to buy a Franchi affinity or the Stoeger M3000 and wanted some advice on what people thought was the best?
wraivi
I had a stoeger M2000, it was ok and reliable, but I found it a bit cheaply made, had the cartridge drop lever break, and eventually had to machine and fabricate my own, I never really got to enjoying it. The M3000 is not that different, same kind of action in a different stock, could be a good one, but the yanks have slated it and rate the Affinity really highly. I have had my affinity well over a year and can't fault it, absolutely suberb in fit and function, chalk and cheese difference to the stoeger. I have always liked and used autos, particularly the non gas operated type actions, and the Affinity is by far one of the best I have owned. (Still have a profound love for the recoil operated FN Auto 5), but the Franchi definitely gets used the most. I like the fact it is Benelli factory made and backed up with a 7 year warranty, and so far I cant fault it and have yet to doubt it. Cracking kit for the money. johnnytheboy
I think I'd be buying a franchi! I seen the affinity at premier guns for £540, I think rifle craft import the stoegerand they are a nightmare to deal with, if you ever needed any after sales follow up you'd be banging your head off a brick wall! I called Riflecraft twice for parts for my Remington still haven't heard back from them, I bought them in America and they arrived today, still no call from Riflecraft! GMK had parts for my xtrema2 to my gun shop the following day!
Ian North Wales
Thank you guys for the feed back. I'm going to get the franchi with the 26" barrel. I'll post how I get on with it. 😊
