Savhmr
.22 air rifle, 22LR, .223 and .308 Winchester plus of course the shotguns. As far as guns go, that's all I'd have use for presently.
kent
If you mean red deer your wrong it will kill them fine with a well placed bullet. I'm not a 243 fan but it's perfectly capable of kill big reds with the right bullet. How would you rather be shoot 243 though the heart or a 416 in the legs. Placement not displacement is the key to clean kills. Cracker spot on

Yes, it has issues and some can't get on with it, and some need more than it offers, that doesn't make the HMR useless or obsolete, it means that people need something else. I and many other people have a use for the HMR, as I do for my other 7 different calibre rifles!
Scrumbag
Perfect Battery in my view .22lr – Between High Vel and Subs everything covered from bunnies to close in foxes .223 Rem – Targets and a foxing / munty rifle 257 Roberts – Light deer rifle 7x64 – Heavy weight rifle this one for bigger deer and longer range at Bisley 9.3x62 – Really for driven boar but if you want to sit something down SGs O/U for clays and game shooting Pump action – 3.5” for fox drives and wildfowling
Underdog
The 257bob would do the lot from fox to red deer.
