10 Bore reloading components

Recommended Posts

Who has the best selection of 10 Bore reloading components in the UK, i would prefer to get all my items from one supplier rather than paying loads of different shipping from different suppliers.

I am in Scotland so Gaep look pretty good so far plus i could collect from them, the only downside i see from them is they only seem to to Cheddite cases in 10 bore, but Clay and Game do Remington cases and they seem to have more load data available for them.

Is there such as thing as a one stop shot for 10 bore stuff??

When i used to reload for 10 bore a few years back, i used the 1978 Shooting Times reloading book, i think there was only about 6 loads listed for 10 bores.

Then i used Fiocchi cases (the only ones i had) eley surefire caps, No 82 powder, cards. fibre wads, lead shot and finished with a RTO

We never knew anything about pellet speed or breech pressure life seemed a lot simpler then :)

Also the 1978 book said in bold text "on no account use steel ballbearings in place of lead" how times change :)

Now reloading seems to be a minefield with all the different primers, cases, powder, wads and loads.......it makes your head spin :)

there are a few loads for the ched 10g cases, but all the items for reloading a10g can be tough to get at times if you are keen to keep it and use it often you need to stock up well from the start a lot of my cases and wads came from people that had there fussy out of a 10g and sold it on so keep your ear to the ground for stuff going cheep . if you are short on data you may get some help from the 10g shooters on here

After 20 yrs. reloading 10ga. and smaller steel loads which I gather you are going after for waterfowl? I would advise you to get the best components you can afford. I use Precision Reloading zinc plated shot and their brown wads for long range 10 steel loads. Blue Dot powder in the range of 40-42 grains works best for me out of a tight modified tube. This is with 1 1/2 oz. steel shot--a fast load, devastating on Geese.
