VULTURE
Hi. Bit of a long shot and I know there are a few bikers on here, I've managed to lose a part of my 1981 Yamaha front calliper, I don't know what the part is called but I have put a pic below,. The part is no longer available from Yamaha. So I anybody has one knocking about they don't need I would be a happy chappie. Happy to pay or donate to charity. Cheers. TONY R
XS 400/ xs 650 by the looks think they are both the same cant tell by picture, a new pad set should get you pad shims in it. EBAY maybe for just a shim of some body breaking one, but could be strugling, go the new pad route.

Is it a XS650? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Yamaha-Brake-Caliper-Shim-XS650-1J3-25913-00-NEW-NOS-/221892642652?hash=item33a9d5075c:g:0v8AAOxyIAZRrmKq http://www.mikesxs.net/parts/yamaha-xs650-brake-shim-kit-oem-4k0-w0045-02-
VULTURE
Hi as previously stated not available from Yamaha ,used to be sold as part of the brake pad kit. Have tried all the local breakers but they want silly money for the whole caliper,I've just refurbished mine and just need this one little piece to finish. The bike is an XS250 and the same caliper is used on the 400,650,750,850 and the 1100 so must be one laying about somewhere. Cheers. TONY R
Mike is your friend, if all else fails. But there must be some some where surely. https://www.mikesxs.net/parts/yamaha-xs650-brake-pad-set-2-77-84-front-rear-oem-1j3-20000-11-1j3-20000-13-3h5-w0045-00-2m0-w0046-01-4k0-w0045-00-1l9-w0046-00-2j2-w0046-00-3g1-w0046-00-3h5-w0045-00-1j3-w0046-00-1j3-w0045-00-1l9-w0045-00-1u4-w0046-01-

Marki
You can still get the original new part from the States. Cheapest I found one for was about a tenner delivered. Search for the part number. 1J3-25913-00-
TONY R
Those on ebay for 8 quid, personaly i would have thought its more practical to get a pad kit from mikes 17 dollars.

Unfortunately in the real world this just isn't true. OEM brake pads for my daytona are £50, pads only. GASGAS EC250 with Brembo brakes? Pads £70 nothing else included. I work for an automotive company, we give nothing away if there is a chance of selling it. Your link to mike, which I had posted earlier, is not oem and is very cheap. Please explain your logic? Your disregard for the stuff on ebay is in complete ignorance of the cost of USA shipping and custom fees.

My 525 desert racing only cost me £25 for sintered or £32 for organic brembo's... £47 for front wavy brembo disc or £68 something for brembo solid. Think your being shafted... :L in all fairness I use artrax discs with either rfx sintered pads in summer or ebc organic pads in winter. To op, I will try and remember the site I used to use for my 83 dt, it will list what other bikes it fits and where to get the shim from

Marki
£70 for pads on an ec 250? Are you having a laugh? Try reading the post I was responding to. That is the price from Brembo for the original pads, doesn't mean I buy them.

bruno22rf
Does an xs250 really need brakes?
VULTURE
Yes if you throw away the original carbs and fit Mikuni VM 26 on home made manifolds, for some reason that only Yamaha knows the standard carbs won't let you have full throttle, plus my xs is about 30% lighter than it was as its a cafe racer. Cheers. Vulture.
