Garnfadryn
If I've followed Fenboy's procedure correctly, there should be a photo of my fireformed .410 cartridge below. I'm quite pleased with the results, although I'm hoping they form a bit more with use. Thanks to Wharf Rat for the brass!

Please enlighten You can fireform .303 brass into .410 shotgun brass. Once fireformed it shouldn't need resizing (allegedly). http://www.fourten.org.uk/reloading303.html
Garnfadryn
Right on all counts. I do have a smoothbore Lee Enfield (big boys toy!), but this procedure would work for any .410. If you use them in the same gun all the time, they should form to fit that specific chamber and not need resizing.
Jaymo
Thanks chaps Fully aware of fire-forming , just wasn't aware of the correlation between brass .303 and their use in a .
Dasher
Next question is do you have access to rifle primers so you can use them?
Garnfadryn
Yes! The rifle primers are perfect .
saddler
Large pistol primers surely? Work in both my bought CBC Magtech 12-ga & converted .303-.410 brass....
Dasher
Yes my mistake, large pistol primers are what I've used in the past in Magtech .410 cases, oversized fibre wads etc from Circle-Fly.
