Fisherman Mike
Nice one Will and quite true.......... Its amazing what a upturned bin of rubbish will bring in...... I use a black bin liner full of empty packaging & cartons turned out over the ground to bring in crows and magpies....... works like a dream! Red Stag I assume by decoys you mean call decoys. When I have been out lamping with my .22 Remington I have brought many a Charlie within range with a squeeker. I dont know where he got it from but my late Grandfather gave it to me. He may even have made it as it is just a piece of carved wood with a reed which when blown produces a high pitched squeeking noise. red_stag88
No really do mean decoys. For calls i'm set, the back of my hand does fine. This is what I found on the net, they use it in the states for Cyotes (cant spell it)
new to the flock
Red I believe that one is the redi rabbit by feather flex...works well and does what it is intended to do, focus the yote's or fox's attention away from the shooter. I have made one from a skinned out cotten tail....quick tanned the hide, made a newspaper and duct tape body, (this makes a cheap but effective taxidermy mount, which looks very life like) and the heavy spring from a car hood, with a stake on the bottom...( 6 inch, metal rod welded to the spring). This allows you to put a jerk cord on your decoy. works very well and is very effective. Also try something as simple a small feather hung from fishing line from a low overhead branch, becomes deadly when you add a little bit of scent to the feather. You use to be able to buy what was called a ferrets weasal in the pet stores...this was a small piece of fack fur attatched to a ball which had a mechanical heart in it. the ball would roll very erradically when turned on and never broke a 6 foot circle looked very much like a rabbit flopping around on the ground. ernyha
and the heavy spring from a car hood, :yp: NTTF Kindly remember you are a guest on a UK forum and we speak English here. We would assume you are referring to the BONNET when you use American euphemisms like that. Oh! forgot about October, suppose TC gets the pick of the rooms now assuming i get picked up from the airport. :*) :*)

TC: Just noticed the name tags for sleeping arrangements in October....seems you've been moved to the BIG comfy bed and Ern has been moved to the chicken coop.
