billytheghillie
Recently purchased a T20 IR torch from L/L, what is the best battery for it to use with a Yukon Photon Scope.
Harry Callahan
Any of them... but stick to well known battery/electronic names (keep away from the Ultrafire, Surefire etc. ones). I use rechargable Panasonic's in my T20 red led and other torches. Let me know how you get on with the T20 on the Photon as I'm saving up for one currently and was thinking the T20 would be big enough
billytheghillie
Thanks for that, but what size? 3400mah, 31000mah, 26000mah, what does all that mean?
teza
Thanks for that, but what size? 3400mah, 31000mah, 26000mah, what does all that mean? the higher the number the more power stored in the battery so it lasts longer

oldypigeonpopper
hello, i do not understand why people do not like surefire/ultra fire/ unique fire recharge18650 batteries i have been using them for years and never had any problem. my last purchase 4 ultrafire for £6 ish work very well in my T38
ChrisPCarter
Or you can crack open a spare/old laptop battery and use the 18650 cells they usually contain. They don't have some of the charging protection built in that others do but if you have a good charger then that takes care of it anyway. kent
As someone who started with motorbike batteries burning holes in coats and canvass Army and navy rucksacks I can tell you - Buy the smallest you can get away with for your lamp. Bigger isn't always better and you don't need a mega lamp to get the job done efficiently and safely anyhow
teza
i use optic fire 3600 mah batteries in both my tx 67 torches one double cell and one single cell and never had a problem. teza

They could well last and work fine, of the could over-charge and go on fire.
FalconFN
Thanks for that, but what size? 3400mah, 31000mah, 26000mah, what does all that mean?As teza says, but just to be clear, all of the ###@fire batteries claim massively high amperages but they are lying. Decent makes will have 2600 mAh or there abouts which is pretty much the limit so 3200 or even 5000 mAh batts don't exist and are probably no more than 1800. The ####fire ones I've had don't seem to last as long as the Sanyo/Panasonic/LG/Sony ones I get from ex laptop batteries.
