Ferretboy111
Was thinking about getting a dog box for my car for my springer to fill the boot, seen some for around £150, thinking its abit too expensive, anyone with any ideas on cheaper ones, or DIY ones? Cheers guys Alex

Lancs Lad
I got a soft crate from CANINE KENNELS, folds down flat for storage. I went for the Red one, but I have a cocker, would go for the green one for a springer or the large. No problems with storage as when you have used it, fold it flat and leave it in the car or stick it under the stairs. Mine was about 38 quid. Ferretboy111
Cheers have seen the soft crates, and have an indoor dog cage, however i think its going to be way to big to fit into my hatchback comfortably. Ill have a play around and let you know the outcome, Alex
MC
Alex, I use the cage that I had for indoors, just with a couple of old army type blankets in the bottom.
Paul in North Lincs.
got this one form a guy who advertises in the Countrymans Weekly...he does a variety of sizes...and they are very well made with a cover with various pockets and compartments........this one was about £100, but it was a one of his largers as 'Stiggy Boy's' a big lad......... I'll tyry and dig out the advert and pm you
Highlander
Lintran...yes they are expensive but to my mind if you simply gonna put a cage in the car you may as well not bother with anything. Everytime the dog gets in, wet, smelly and covered in all that stuff dogs manage to collect and he shakes, rattles and rolls it'll be all over your car. And I thought the dog box was supposed to stop all that
Ferretboy111
Yeahs that what ive read in the books that a cage is useless really for car journeys, Have been looking at this, as its the only one that would fit in the back of my car The atlas 80 one, do you think its going to be too small for a springer bitch? If so ill keep thinking. http://www.caninekennels.com/~sa_webapp/run.asp?page=8273 Cheers guys, Alex

CharlieT
I got a folding wire crate in the local farm supplies with front and side doors for I think £35. Perspex cut to size and zip tied to the outside. Job done at a decent price. Do a google for dog crates or try Mole Valley Farmers if your ever down this way.
