Hi Steve, I have just bought a rifle scope from Tony, it is always a worry when you send several hundred pounds to a complete stranger sight unseen (if you will forgive the pun!).

I received the scope three days later well packaged and presented. The condition was as described, so I am happy with the service. I have never met Tony or bought from him before, but I would do so in the future. I hope this helps.

Regards Nick

Thanks Nick. Since I first asked about the company, I checked it out on some of the FaceBook shooting forums, and had nothing but praise regarding it and the owner-Tony.

I have now paid for a rifle off him, which will be sent free to an RFD friend of mine. Once my FAC variation comes back (?) I can pick up the rifle.

Update:

Just completed the deal with Tony. Very pleased and looking forward to getting the rifle in my hands.

I've got the same and wasn't keen on the trigger unit so fitted a Riflebasix from Rimfire magic (Yorkshire shooting supplies I think). I haven't bothered with the mag, one thing less to forget. I know you'll be reloading but South West in Kenfig have (had around 1000 rounds delivered in the summer) plenty of S&B 32grn ammunition in stock which was as accurate as Hornady. £17.50 a box.

Cheers. I've got to buy some factory ammunition to start me off, so when I get my FAC back (?) I'll get some. I'm also looking for some new cases.

I will check the trigger out, and will more than likely change it. :good:

I'll likely be in the shop over the next week or two so I'll check to see if they still have the S&B in stock

Thanks. The shop is not far from me, and I know Phil & Tina well. The annoying thing is that I can't buy anything until my FAC is returned, which will be many weeks down the line. The only thing I can do is to pay for the ammunition and ask them to keep it for me.

Tony is a top bloke not governed by making massive profits, be warned though, if you pick anything up from him make sure you have an afternoon to kill as you won't want to leave to quick. :good:

That's why the rifle etc is being sent to another RFD. Although, I do plan to visit Tony in the next few months with a list of what I want to buy from him.

I popped into him for bits and advice on the Hornet, after a few hours I walked out with a second hand lyman set of dies for a tenner, 100 new remington cases for the price of ppu, 200 bullets for the 243 that I have been trying, and failing to get elsewhere and a stack of other stuff. He's a mine of information and his shelves are stacked with loads of stuff and he is always willing to save you money by selling you second hand kit if you want it. He was telling me that he's just purchased a very expensive bit of kit for checking rifle bores as he's been stitched up in the past and won't let anything go out that's not worth the money. Best of all he's open evenings and weekends when I'm not working.

I understand that he works from home.

UPDATE:

Well, I went to see my rifle this morning. To say I was pleased is an understatement. The rifle/moderator is in absolute mint condition. The only thing now is that I have to wait until my FAC is returned. It's only been just over a week since I sent it for a variation, so I'm not expecting it back for at least another 10 weeks.

But at least I grabbed an absolute bargain.

  • 3 weeks later...

Update: After a lengthy discussion with the manager of the Firearms Licensing dept in Bridgend, I have been promised that my FAC will be posted back to me next Tuesday. (10th) My variation form was posted to them on 15th April, so I'm pleased with the service. Had I not phoned to enquire about my application, I think I would have waited longer. I'm looking forward to picking up my rifle/moderator and trying it out. :)
