hushpower ammo

Recommended Posts

hi eddy, had hushy 410 and 12 gauge for years, both pedretti. in my experience the subsonic ammo negated the cost and found that not a great deal of difference between moderation with sub shells and 30 gram 6 through the 12. i bought a 1000 12 subby shells and used them alongside eley pigeon and found very little difference in noise. even using sub shells if the rapport bounces off a wood or towards a building it is still loud, i used to notice this a lot shooting squat and running rabbits on the lamp. once i bought the 12 my 410 became redundant for my uses and sold on. as said i just used 30 gram six through it and shooting pigeons on a windy day very quiet.

Fourlongs are VERY quiet but I didn't rate them as a killing cartridge. I switched back to Lyalvale Supreme 14g which are louder but hit much harder.

I have found things fly on more with furlongs, the 18g subsonics seem better and not really much louder. As has been said if you find yourselves shooting into or towards a wood the sound soon amplifies.

To answer your question, the quietest will probably be eley fourlongs, because they're likely the slowest. I clocked them at around the 750fps mark, so they aren't going to be as hard hitting as some of the other 2:1/2 and 3" carts available. But if it's quietest you want, try the fourlongs fella.
