rimfire4969
What are peoples feelings on supplying water in or around your cover crops. I am in the process of trying to convince my shoot members that we need water points in or around our cover crops and anywhere we would like our birds to be. I can't understand why they are not so keen, apart from extra work. Also: How do you feed your water in your remote places? IBC containers. kennett
I always put water out in big 20ltr stainless drinkers and cut in half 20l spray cans, but only for the summer/dry Autumn months until the poults are fending for themselves. I always think, (especially on my clay land) that there are plenty of puddles about in the winter and the drinkers will only freeze and split any way when it turns cold Edited April 24, 2016 by kennett
Konnie
As above if you have time from now on till autumn does no harm, if it's available they have a choice if not they don't.
scolopax
When it is dry water holds birds on the ground better than feed.
Scully
We put drinkers wherever we feel the need, but slightly raised if possible so the birds can't carp in them.
