texas
Could anyone tell me the best time of year is most productive for calling muntjac please. I have been out and waited patently on known areas of my permission for muntjac, both in the early morning and just before dusk. I have only had one successful evening.and that was early spring time. chipper
From personal experience, the buttollo works all year round, depends if there is a munty in the area. Used it all hours of the day with varying degrees of success, but tend to see more during early evening (on the ground where i shoot anyway). old man
IMO, a bit subjective this, how can you work out whether the Munty came to the call or just wandered in on it's ramblings? Have seen Roe reacting positively to a call but personally not sure about Munty?
Dunkield
Some (Stealth Stalker for example) swear you can call them. The one and only time I tried this in anger a massive buck appeared from the adjacent wood, but of course he may have just appeared anyway? I played with once whilst watching one through my scope, just outside my boundary, and if anything it frightened it off.
malkiserow
I've tried but not 100% sure it makes any difference.
mister 1216
Please be careful if culling does. The bulk of muntjac are born in the warmer months. This is born out by the lack of fawns seen or picked up by gundogs in the winter. If you call does in when they have young at foot,it is often a response to a fawns distress call. It is then very eary to leave an orphan.

This may be useful? http://www.thedeerinitiative.co.uk/uploads/guides/167.pdf How would you know the target call for Does or Bucks?

What a complete load of " Utter BULL POOP " you are obviously NOT a Experienced Deer Stalker in fact by making statements as above you are not a Deer Stalker at all
