crosswaters
I think the battery is knackered on my daystate mk3 ,it started a couple of weeks ago as it needed charging and was only charged a week or so before that. yesterday before using i noticed the red light flickering again so put on charge overnight but this time when trying to use gun nothing when pulling the trigger. Has anyone replaced battery and what sort of job is it and can you readily get hold of new replacement. H
bruno22rf
Think there is a video on youtube of how to do it and I have seen an article on, I think, the Daystate owners forum about how it's done.
mickmep
when the battery went in my air ranger i bought a new one direct from daystate, very good service. alternatively there is a way of fitting a pp3 9v battery to power the gun (assuming it works with the mk3, you'll have to check). i didn't bother as with the daystate battery you dont have to take the stock off to change battery, just recharge it in place. forgot to say was easy to change on mine, stock off and the battery has a fly lead with connector which you unplug, battery was held in place with Velcro. figgy
He must be confused with his Daystate model, one has a battery and the other is a mechanical trigger.
bruno22rf
Seem to recall that some had batteries that were soldered on.
mickmep
ive got both air ranger and air wolf and made a mistake with the model. other information was correct, and you've made yourself look a complete tool going off on one.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but out of the 2 which one couldn't you be without? I currently own a huntsman which is pretty much FUBAR and no-one seems able to fix it and my local RFD has both the Wolf and Ranger in his shop that I keep looking at, cheers. bruno22rf
mickmep - you need to cut evo a little slack - doubt that anyone on this forum knows more about Daystates ( or has owned so many) but with his final realisation that Air Arms make a better gun, at a better price, his world has been turned upside down. Now that his parents have disowned him (Tony Belas and Bella Emberg) for selling his soul and buying an AA his specialists have struggled to keep him calm - 5 shots inside a 1" circle at 30 metres using his EV2 did not help matters and saw our hapless chap jumping up and down like a whores drawers for days. I agree that his initial post may have been taken as a little condescending but once you get to know him (and his Ketamine levels are sorted) you will soon learn that he is the dog's danglies where advice on Air Rifle related matters are concerned. I could be without either, the wolf is fac, I got on well shooting it for lightweight sporting practice, but is too heavy to shoot in competition possibly as has the 500cc bottle, I can't get it under the 4.5kg weight allowance with a decent scope. I bought the ranger to use for lightweight sporting, it comes in under 4.5kg scoped with a 400cc bottle fitted, BUT its pretty rubbish accuracy/group wise. i've tried all sorts of pellets in it, settling on H&N FTT but it just not as consistent as my air arms ultimate sporter, which outshoots it group wise with pretty much any pellet you put in it. bought a pulsar a couple of weeks ago, and for lightweight sporting it's in a different world to the ranger, not sure I'd use it as a pest control gun though as you have to mount the scope a fair way above the barrel to get it aligned with your eye when shouldering the gun, would probably have a very pronounced pellet drop over differing ranges, but LSR is shot fixed distance at 20 or 25 yards so this doesn't matter for what I'm using the gun. if you cant stretch to, or like, the pulsar, I'd go with the wolf based on my 2 guns. mine is the pre screen version, whatever model that is. you know what, I've just sat here any typed this out for you and thought to myself that maybe you're asking the wrong person..........you need to ask the tool... I appreciate the lengthy reply thanks, some good points made, I must admit I've been leaning towards the airwolf for a while but keep hearing good things about the ultimate sporter, just gotta sort this huntsman out first! Cheers Easy way to sort a Huntsman out, sell it and buy an HW100, oh I forgot they do not group at the moment either, bad barrells! Other way is to send it to XTX, people who have sent guns back to Daystate have noticed the elasticity on the return policy, ie it keeps going back. Sending it to XTX ensures it performs the way it was intended. Edited July 18, 2016 by secretagentmole

crosswaters
Update...... Today I received the new battery 8.4v 850mAh this is a upgraded battery from 450mAh up to 850mAh from Daystate and as was suggested it was a simple unplug and plug new battery in after removing stock. I've tested action and all works perfect . I must say what a great service provided by Daystate and quick delivery and was told you get it a trade price as well now that's me very happy. Again thanks to all at pw for your help and now back building up stock for pigeon pies. Cheers H
