A decent load of 36gm of 4.5mm steel may do the job. I would say that a thick plastic wad would not be ideal through a moderated gun anyway. TONY R Posted July 17, 2016 Report Share Posted July 17, 2016 Copper shot is what i would use with a hushpower gun, it is a little denser than steel and its safe with standard wads in any gun, so would not present a problem of a plastic wad in the moderation, copper is cheaper than made up bismuth. If i were to contemplate steel in a quieter shotgun layout, i would use a Metrogun myself, these are used with steel and the website shows data for subsonic steel for use in them.
