Walker570
Cheers Walker. I'm ok with the reloading thanks but certainly not taking it as an insult. I have yet to try the 25s but just feel the need for speed at the moment lol But 100% agree that accuracy is paramount. If your getting the accuracy desired with the 20 grainers, then stick with them, because I don't think the customer will notice the difference. Sako7mm
I have certainly noticed a big difference between the terminal performance of the 20 grain v-max and 25 grain hollow points. I don't mind the 20 grain bullets for crows and daft cubs, but for foxing I stick with the 25 grain Bergers. I prefer N140.
Walker570
This rifle shooting is seriously weird isn't it. I just could not get those Bergers to shoot in my barrel at all. As you say the larger the projectile, the bigger the hole :-) Just discussing 243s versus 308 for a first rifle and the buyer was mainly interested in foxes with occasional deer. I said the fox was going to be just as dead but the 308 was far better for everything else.
Dougy
Well getting some promising groups to start off with 20 and 25 grain vmax. Only shooting 3 in early development. Best powder that I've used is N140 and Varget. BL-C2 not good just need a little more tweaking. Velocity makes me smile 20s moving at 4200 and the 25s 3950. :-)

Dougy
looks a tool Dougy..i hear good things about this cal...do you like the Sightron I think like any of the 17 cal cf there sweet to shoot, less noise which if you're around properties is a bonus. Very little recoil, in fact as mine is no bantam weight it's not much more than a 22lr, and seeing the impact is quite assuring too. Mind you I really need to tighten the groups with more load development this weekend. The sightron is very good for the price, not had any issues that "i" am aware of regards with tracking. And as my PA has commented below they are just brilliant coupled with the Archer. If I could range find at night then the Fox's would be in serious trouble with my 260. He must do as its his second one and they work on his archer Thanks you Mr reggiegun.
