Looking at steel wheel and m/t tyre packages and have found a decent deal on 265/70/16s, can I swap these for my 255/70/15s? I don't think the extra rim size will be a problem, might make it look less like it's got shopping trolley wheels! Just the extra width possibly? LowStandards Posted July 31, 2016 Report Share Posted July 31, 2016 It'll probably make your speedo more accurate as they under read as standard (mines now GPS verified at 68mph when the clock reads 70). I'd be more worried about the gearing, but I imagine the hilux has a hefty lump in it? I've just gone up 7% over standard on my Suzuki and it's pretty dire acceleration wise now, but then it never was meant to be a rocketship and it goes through mud like anything. I'm struggling to find the right size for some reason, spoke to a company over the phone and the best size they had was 235/70/16, is that too narrow?
