gixxerboy Posted August 26, 2016 Report Share Posted August 26, 2016 After the last lot went so well I was asked if I was going to make some more so here you go peeps. All the priests are a solid brass end weight that is turned, drilled and tapped M10 for a screwed rod that is epoxied into both the end weight and the handle so should never come apart during normal use and the other end is a leather lanyard capped off with a parted off .223 case. The brass end weight also has a parted off 22-250 case end set into it for decoration. The group of 5 top left are all Spalted Beech measuring just under 6" long and just under 3/4" in diameter. The group of 6 bottom left are all Spalted Beech just under 7" long and just under 1" in diameter. The 3 bottom right are yellow/black laminate, red/black laminate and Wenge all just under 6" long and just under 3/4" in diameter. The 3 top right are something different I thought I'd try. They are similar size as the smaller ones but are made out of acrylic pen blanks and they have a brass turned end (which is threaded and screwed into the main body) for the lanyard. All the Spalted Beech ones have varying degrees of "spalting" but I've tried to get them showing the major amount of graining/spalting in the picture. All the wooden priests have one coat of sanding/sealer on them then two coats of Bees wax. The acrylic ones are sanded endlessly through numerous grit micro-mesh pads then finished off with some acrylic polishing paste to a nice gloss finish. All the wooden priests are £25 posted 1st class signed for but the acrylic ones are £30 posted as there's a little more work involved with them. Also because we live rurally and the Post Office is part of the pub I was informed today that no post will be going on Monday due to it being a Bank Holiday. I do apologise to those who I told their priests would be sent Monday but due to the holiday they will be going out Tuesday. In the spalted beech I have no.s 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, and 11. Of the three acrylic ones top right I have 1 and 2. And finally of the three bottom right I have the darkest one (Wenge) far right left.
