Malinois
I drove past one of my fields today in the ambulance a day saw the farmer disking it. Dropped him a text, he's putting rape in. How soon will it start to prove attractive to our feathered friends? Ian

Exudate
From being drilled, I've always found the first good days on rape to be March, although it'll produce some action throughout the winter, too.
oldypigeonpopper
hello, do you mean on the dropped seed spill to ??
aga man
They normally start feeding on the green leaves around Christmas time here. You are slightly more north so late November onwards possibly. Weather and available food determines when they will be on the rape.

deny essex
Great, good fun for winter then And possibly frustrating too. As we get into winter rape shooting with large flocks often moving as one body one bang and their off to the next rape field. But I still enjoy it

Wooder
they have disked all the rape stubble in where I live, but there is a lot of self sown shoots that seem to be becoming attractive, noticed about 50 birds feeding on a field this morning on my way to work, will give it a go this weekend. I usually start to shoot new rape from November.
