Wingman
Hi all I have been working on fitting a rubber recoil pad to my Browning Auto-5, its a Bisley old English type kind of a reddish brown over a black spacer. I have ground it to fit and it looks good but I am wondering about some form of final finish or sealant to shine and smooth it up a bit. Thought about applying linseed oil but worried that would make it sticky, so any ideas or tips from those more knowledgeable than I would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

Smokersmith
I've done a couple like you describe ..... I didn't coat mine, but a good go with white spirit on wet n dry gave a really nice finish.
TDS
Very fine grit paper and WD40 will give you a slick and shiny finish

TDS
Kick-eez and Limbsaver both recommend WD40 for final polish http://kickeezproducts.com/installing-recoil-pads/ https://www.limbsaver.com/technical/images/grind/grind_instructions.pdf Should work on plastic as well...try on a scrap bit of placcy first
