slaphead
I've been offered a BERNARDELLI, VINCENZO MERLIN sxs for £330 from a local gunshop. Does anyone have experience of these guns? Are they worth having or are they usually trouble? It's not a name I am familiar with. slaphead
So it's not something that I'd lose a fortune on if I can't get on with it? They said it's 8 1/2 to 9 out of ten in condition. No colour hardening but excelltnt blueing on barrels. Everything is tight I'm told
TONY R
AFAIK Bernadellis are a high end gun maker, the actor Charlton heston had a pair of Bernadellis he apparently went out of his way to have them make them for him above all other makers. I think he had a few quid old charlton and i think he could have had anybody else make him some guns, but he knew a bit about guns was the NRA mascot leader for long enough so knew one ond of a gun from another. Given the Pedigree i am of the opinion if all is well with your gun you could just have a real classy bit of kit on your hands there. arjimlad
I have one. Admittedly it is with the gunsmith at the moment as a pin became loose (the gun is over 40 like its owner) but I like it very much. It's my rough gun for round the farms/pigeons. Having used a Beretta 626 and an AYA no5, I think it is Beretta quality for AYA money. The barrels are very well struck-off and I like how light it is, and easy to carry. slaphead
Thanks for your input guys! Well, I went out and bought it... I couldn't resist it at that weight! Its very tight and the barrels are sweet!! There are just a couple of marks on the stock but thats only to be expected I suppose. The action doesn't seem like its seen a lot of use. I still cant believe how light it is! Roll on Sunday for its maiden voyage
