inthedark
I'm going to fit a 34" lightbar to my hilux, but every time I look for one on line I get bogged down in what are obviously cheap and nasty efforts by far east manufacturers. I'm not adverse to buying from abroad but it needs to work, not catch fire, and not electrocute me. Anyone with first hand experience point me towards a decent supplier, or what to avoid? Thanks for looking
m3vert
I bought one out here in the middle east. No doubt it originated from China, it was pretty cheap at 100quid (2-3 years ago) 34 or 36" I think. It works great, its not caught fire (yet) and it hasn't electrocuted me (yet). I cannot give you a name as it doesn't have one on it, if it packed in I would replace it with another from the same source. Other than some of the black paint starting to peel, something I could sort with a bit of hammerite, I am very happy with it. It provides loads of light, although it can be a bit harsh at times. Not sure if that's much help to you, but I would say, me personally I would not spend big money on a fancy branded one as the cheap ones in my experience are perfectly fine. figgy
The expensive ones will be made in the same place just someone is making more money per item on branded.

39TDS
Got mine off ebay a few years back. Works well, fits well, does all the things it should and none of the things it shouldn't. One bit of advice would be to get one with adjustable fixing points rather than just on the end of the bar. That way you can fix wherever you want rather than where the manufacturer says. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5D-OSRAM-LED-Combo-Work-Light-Bar-Offroad-Driving-Lamp-4WD-Truck-ATV-AWD-/282047586206?var=&hash=item41ab589f9e:m:mmKq8sERAPrEuV9fJngFFvA

Wishful thinking maybe, but still a cracking idea. I feel a change of plan coming on :-)
Lord O War
I do actually have a couple of the master replica lightsabers up in the loft. They are really good, they light up and do all the noises.
