Alex1Nat2
Anyone a regular at Borderswood shoot? Fancy a drive out to somewhere different & it could be there or Cockett Farm. I've not shot at either. TIA Steve

tpd1309
Cockett is a great ground, Borders is also a nice place to shoot, they are both different...Shoot both
Rupert
Shot them both, Borders is lovely, but its 100 esp or nothing, lots of high birds when i went, Cockett is open every day, has dtl, accompanied 50 birder and a compak so a bit more flexible
Alex1Nat2
Thanks guys, It's sporting I'm after so will try there 1st. Next week I believe. I've seen the sign from the A46 plenty of times & assume Due to the name & sign location, it's in the woods there.

Iv heard you have to trap for yourself Yep its a honesty system and you do button for your self/each other, fiber is preferred but plas is allowed, or it was last year. Alex1Nat2
Great day at Borders Wood today. (my first visit but it wont be the last) Excellent range of targets/angles, superb setup in a very natural woodland surrounding. 100 birds over 13 stands. A couple of stands were easy (for me anyway) but the rest were all good combinations of targets. Nothing stupidly difficult & I shot everything with 1/4 & 1/4 choke & didnt bother change them (Ideal combination I think) Many people seemed to find an 'on report' pair of high driven tricky but I shot 4/6 so was happy. Many came off with 0/6. Dropped some silly clays (don't we all?) Finished on a 73 which I was happy with as it was only my 3rd time out with my new CG. Will be back in 2 weeks!
