old man
Absolutely right in this case - if you've been following the thread you'll have seen that achosenman and I have decided that we are going to become Supreme Benign Dictators!! Seriously, though, I'm not advocating the destruction of democracy - I'm just trying to point out that, for best effect and for the greater good, our votes require to be cast sensibly and responsibly. The proposed view that votes should be cast sensibly and responsibly is not within the remit of people voting in said referendum? Each good soul voting, does their best within their personal limits to place a cross in a box of choice, none of this infers sensibility or responsibility other than managing to place the cross actually in a box? Maybe? We need a PW referendum over your proposals of becoming Supreme Benign Dictators!!
panoma1
When voting in an election how many of us voters actually know who the candidates are and what they stand for? We don't vote for the individual.......we vote for the party he/she represents.......we vote labour in, they let the electorate down, we vote the Tories in, they let the electorate down, we want our elected representatives to look after our interests, but we are way down the importance list! First comes the parties interests, then the elected representatives own interests, then the interests of the lobbyists and backers who donate money to them and/or the party, the interests of the electorate may come sometime after.........if that interest corresponds with the interests of the fore-mentioned! If it doesn't......you ain't gonna get your wishes! The whole political system is corrupt! And people have cottoned on to this, Voting for Trump, the SNP or Le Pen (or Brexit!) is a result of this.........these people/organisations didnt win any election the establishment lost it!............ You missed out the constant sending aid to countries with space programs, dictators with Swiss bank accounts and the continual spending on interfering with the activities of other Countries world wide? As an aside it seem like the ghouls of Major and Bliar are rising form the underworld to call for another referendum? No doubt the political parties each is affiliated to can't see the damage being caused to our Country by this awakening?
