islandgun
I go out most evenings, sit behind a wall or bank, bag so far this season 3 mallard, my missus doesnt even bother to ask if I got anything any more. but do I care?, the only part of the day i really relax, watch and think, and come up with the next home-load that will (this time) do the business... marsh man
Hi islandgun....... I know what you mean and where you are coming from . My form of relaxing is the other way round , I no longer go in the mornings after wildfowl due to the old joints needing a bit of time of light exercise before they start responding with the rest of the body. Every morning , rain or shine start off with a walk along the estuary wall with the dogs , sometimes I take the binoculars and get the enjoyment watching the fowl going about there daily business while sitting on one of the styles or watching the sunrise coming up over the town , now time is my own I can take within reason as long as I want and enjoy a cup of tea and read the daily paper before I start my day in earnest. Then in the afternoon as the sun is going down I go into wildfowling mode and my intention is to try and get a duck or goose when I leave the comfort of my house and if there is a nice sunset or the sound of geese ringing in the ear drums I then treat that as a added bonus .
