maverick 16
Morning all, Could anyone assist please? Just purchased a Rizzini E O/U, its got gloss a varnish finish on the woodwork,I would like to remove this & replace with an oiled finish. I need to remove the stock to complete, do I have to take of the (fake) side plates or will they be left in place? I presume there is a long stock bolt visible when the rubber but pad is removed? Thanks in advance.
kennett
Most guns are done through removing the butt plate. There will either be a slot, torx, allen or nut head to remove
Gordon R
Years since I had the stock off one, but I seem to remember that the two side-plate screws have to be removed. Stock removal is a long bolt under the butt pad.
maverick 16
Thanks both, Gordon, presumably when the left & right screws are removed & stock bolt removed the stock will pull off?
Highlandladdie
If it is stiff you can rock the stock up and down whilst pulling the stock away from the action, ie along the line of the barrels.
Kalahari
Side plates off and a slim 10mm socket on a longish extension bar if my memory is correct. David.
Mr.C
It is Kalahari Screws out of side plates, slacken stock bolt and give bolt a tap before fully undoing it if the stock doesn't start to come away. Stock off then lift out the side plates up and back as they engage under the action at the front.
