Malinois
Hi, could I ask what the format of these d as is please? Ian Edited February 24, 2017 by Malinois
Catton Carl
Hi Ian Its basicly a chance to zero and practise in a realistic enviroment, we take over catton estate for the day, set out loads of different types of targets from animal images to metal reactive targets at 400 + yards and closer, plenty of chance to shoot as much ammo as you can bring, its not bench rest shooting or any sort of competion. just a group of like minded people improving ther skills and making some new mates along the way. have a look at the web site www.cattonriflesport,co,uk im sure there are plenty on here who could vouch for us as well. carl
SPARKIE
also do a search for the catton pw camping weekend. loads of info and pics on there.
Dougy
Ian, it's a really good day out, lots of banter and sometimes too much shooting. As Carl said targets are varied, at 150-200 yards it's either potatoe or onions hanging, shoot them all off then sneak off for a coffee while someone else replaces them. Or go up to the longer range targets 200-400 yrd clays, potatoes (or onions) metal reactive targets, there's also some smaller targets that offer the odd few a challenge, difficult to see depending on lighting, and they have holes in the middle. PS sparkie and Carl I have some lifting strops for you. ;-)

team tractor
Straps hold the targets up instead of using chains as sparkie keeps shooting them
Malinois
Are we booked on this? Ian
Dougy
The strops will take a few more hits than just the 1 on a chain, it happens deliberately or not. But a pain if you have to go and keep repairing them.
Malinois
I never hit any chains. I'm too accurate for that I'm a fanatical tata smasher Plus, surely a 17 Hornet won't break a shoe lace never mind a chain

Malinois
I'm buying a 1 in 8 .223 tomorrow. Won't be scoped in but might bring it down to burn through some of the 200 reloads it comes with. Ian

Ian just stick a toilet role tube to the top as a temp scope but if you want to go up the long range you may need a kitchen role tube for the extra distance
Malinois
It has a scope. I'm using a 3m length of 22mm copper pipe to out shoot you guys with the custom rigs.
