R6demon
Hi guys, does anyone have any instructions on how to build your own magnet? I have heard that you can make them from a wiper motor? Any tips? Thanks
TIGHTCHOKE
Just have a search on Google, it really is very simple to do. Here would be a good start; http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/281816-home-made-pigeon-magnet-with-decoys-mk-2/?hl=%2Bhome+%2Bmade+%2Bmagnet Good luck Edited February 5, 2017 by TIGHTCHOKE

alastair0903
Made one around 15 year ago with a fiesta wiper motor , didn't need instructions or internet . However it did squeak a little as I over engineered it
Walker570
Mine has a Disco window winder motor. You need a bit of ingenuity and engineering know how but not difficult. Gave mine three legs to give it stability in soft ground eg new drillings.
stoxs
when a new one is around £60 it is hardly worth making one! I made one many years ago and it worked but often they end up heavy and often the drive shaft from the motor snap off. If you are really into self build then go for it , keep it light and make sure the arm carrier on top of the motor is even
R6demon
Stoxs I did wonder about that, weight will be my biggest issue as being on the small side, my load lugging is limited!! I may go back to looking for one second hand - I did think that there woould be more of them around but guys must keep hold of them?
