neutron619
Just got back from my afternoon walk. I know folk here get irritated by ramblers, dog walkers, ******, etc. being where they shouldn't when you're trying to mind your own business, enjoy your shooting and do some pest control for your landowner. I've got a new one today though: mountain bikers. There I was, walking back to meet an acquaintance who was set up in his hide, to say bye and leave him to it and what do I see coming towards me? Some chap on a bike, not a care in the world, riding in the barley. I mean - come on. My landowner's probably got money coming out of everywhere you can imagine - he's a rich man. But seriously - riding a bike, in the crop? People make mistakes, take a wrong turn and end up off the public footpaths sometimes. Ok - it's irritating, but often forgivable. It was the lack of respect that got me though. That's someone's livelihood he was using to test out his shiny new monster bike. I told him to get lost, albeit in slightly more polite terms. "Unfortunately, there are no public footpaths on this farm." He knew what I meant. Bah!
Big Mat
People think they can go where ever they like. The big one I have to deal with, is people deciding to walk amongst the tulip beds once they're in flower, roll around in the flowers, run about where they shouldn't be. I know they look nice but at the end of the day they're someones livelihood ( mine amongst others! ) Take photos from the edges of the fields, but don't go wandering 200m down a bed and wonder why someone gets grumpy with you! Vince Green
The one that gets me annoyed is along the canal towpath, you always get a few cyclists but groups of ten or more riding like they are on some sort of time trial is antisocial when families are out for a stroll Edited May 15, 2017 by Vince Green
TIGHTCHOKE
I took a cyclist to task this morning, rather than continue on to the roundabout I was on he went up on to the footpath and cut the corner. he then flew out on to the road I was using to exit the roundabout. To top it of he screamed past the back of my car at work as I engaged reverse gear and started to manouvre in to a car parking space. He seemed quite unaware as to why I thought he was a bloody idiot because of his poor cycling. I wished him well and asked him to consider whether he is actually bullet proof!
