Davyo
Kept the little fella off school today (been getting himself too upset over the Manchester event).I normally fish Fidays so told him to throw his gear in the motor and off we went to our favourite venue.Arrived at the Angel Fishery @ 9am,set up for 9.30.Ben fished 11ft waggler,10lb main line with 6lb hook length size 10.Simple hair rig with 3x sweet corn, cast out to island 20mtres and dropping 12/6inch of the bank.Clipped up so he hit the sweet spot every cast. Hooked his 1st within 10 minutes nice common at 4Lb then it was mad all day up till 5:30pm.Only went quiet for an hour between 12/1pm.He cought 32 carp, majortiy common but a handful of decent mirrors and one little beauty crucian (almost red in colour). But his fish of the day had to be the golden tench when he changed his bait over to chopped worm.Lightest carp if the day was 2.5lb with his best at just shy of 12lb.Needles to say he's now fast asleep in bed. edited to correct predictive text(common lol was cannon) Edited May 26, 2017 by Davyo

Danger-Mouse
Very nice. The tench would have been my fish of the day too.

Davyo
Is Angel the one famous for its golden orph? It holds some nice specimens,Angels (Gateshead) mainly known for the owner being a bit strick.Likes to check your gear on occasions but the fish are in prime condition. No body can walk on & a stricked no alcohol policy so it's ideal to take the kids.If your new to fishing however your restricted to the smaller pond Bassetts until youve had a couole of visits.Still well stocked with various species and carp up to 6Lb.She gets a lot of stick because of this but it's great to go somewhere that you can leave the car unlocked or even pop out for lunch and leave all your gear at your peg.
