Description

Gunmark royale with 30" barrel. Chokes **** (1/4) ***( 1/2). Comes it its original cardboard box with original certificate and an extract from a magazine at the time. The price new was £1900 in the 1970s. Using different calculators that is between 10k and 15k in today's money. The

This is in very good condition. It has a small scratch by the engraved oval, I little bit of bluing loss at the end of barrels and the main screw under the action lever is slightly marked. Bores are immaculate, is very tight on the face and a lovely piece of timber. these were not made for long due to copywright laws and them being a copy of a holland and holland royal i an lead to believe.

Selling as I bought this when I had plans of going on driven days but haven't done that in 2 years and it is far to nice to take on my rough shoot where I shoot now. It has sat in the cabinet for 2 years and think it would far rather be out shooting.

Best of luck with your sale, I love mine and shoot well with it, Not often can you buy a genuine hand made sidelock for this sort of money.

Iirc yours as mine is a Garbi made gun.

A quick look under the barrels will soon tell you which company made the gun no matter who the importer is or was at the time

The makers will have thier stamp on it

The assisted opener was a 27" barrel gold sabel. If I find a good one-off a regale at the right price I'll buy it.

I had a Regale, assisted opener bought for silly money many years ago, when I sold it through the trade it was virtually worthless! Very well made gun and underestimated by the elitists!

A lot of name snobbery still exists. To me a well made gun like the Garbi royals that the op has for sale are a absolute bargain. As when new the prices were a lot more than more expensive guns today like some of the AYA side locks.

Quite right

I was buying AYA and Sabels in the 70's and 80's and certain individuals used to try and rubbish them saying things like their made with inferior metal Their soft and will not last

I have two for sale 37 and 40 years old and no wear whatsoever and still as tight on the action as to when they were made

So i think these spanish made guns proved the doubters wrong

Sabel25 I very nearly bought this very gun from its original owner in Northumberland it having only light use in the game seasons. By the time I'd made up my mind the advert had expired and I missed out. When I found another and bought it RWade and myself were pm messaging about the Gunmark royales and he sent me some pictures of the magazine article and said his came with original box etc, only to find he bought the gun that was in the advert I'd saw and left to late and missed out on. I don't think it is a split but only a scratch. Mine has a light scratch in the blueing not far off the muzzles where it's looks like it's caught a barbed wire fence in the past before I owned it.

Not being new but used lightly for many a year the odd mark will occur,I'm sure the op will tell us more or show a close up of the mark on stock if required.

However i have a slight concern with this gun for sale as on close inspection that scratch as mentioned appears to be a shake ( split ) in the grain which is normaly cause by drying it near to heat or central heating in the house being turned up during winter months

I may be wrong but it's how it looks to me Having said so, it can be addressed with a little work

will be more then happy to provide prospective buyers further photos.
