Gordon R
I have acquired one of these today. Decent nick, aside from the gas struts, which hold the lid open and are shot. Has anyone replaced these with non-Snap On parts? If so, where do I get some. Open length 430mm - closed 295mm - centre to centre. Any help appreciated. As a short term measure, I am going to use a piece of rubber hose, wrapped around one strut. Edited November 4, 2017 by Gordon R

Gordon R
They have struts which would fit, but about £34 plus carriage.
Saltings
slide a piece of 3/4" copper tube over the strut to use as a spacer to keep the strut open when it falls to one side over the silver part to close centralise the tube and the black bit will slide down inside works a treat on truckman top

Lord Geordie
Find a snap on dealer Life time warranty on threm Not too sure on blue point stuff though! Here you go just found it. For SNAP-ON brand hand tools (other than torque wrenches) and tool storage units, the warranty is a LIFETIME warranty effective as long as you own the tool. For BLUE-POINT brand hand tools, unless otherwise specified with the tool, the warranty is also a LIFETIME warranty effective as long as you own the tool. Gordon R
Saltings - couldn't find any 22mm copper tube, but had some thin wall steel tube. Now installed and fully working. Forget the gas struts - this seems far better to me. Thanks.

Gordon R
Saltings - it's better than okay. Aside from the cost of gas struts, which are a further failure waiting to happen - your suggested solution has an almost indefinite life span.
